Imed Kacem
Presentation
Imed Kacem
was born in 1976. He received the Diploma of “INGENIEUR” from the ENSAIT
(French “Grande Ecole”), and his M.Sc. degree from
the University of Lille 1, France, both in 2000, as well as his Ph.D. degree
in 2003 in
control and computer science (flexible job-shop scheduling) from the Ecole Centrale de Lille,
France. He obtained the HDR degree (habilitation to
supervise research) from the University of Paris-Dauphine in 2007 in combinatorial
optimization. From 2003 to 2009, he was Associate Professor with the Charles
Delaunay Institute at the University
of Technology of Troyes (UTT, France) in the Research Group
for Optimization of Industrial Systems. During the year 2007/2008 he was with
the National Scientific Research Centre (CNRS, France). Since 2009, he is
Professor at the University Paul Verlaine – Metz (UPV-M, France) in the
Computer Science Department.

His
research interests include combinatorial optimization, approximation,
scheduling, packing, transportation systems, and maintenance. He is the
author of more than 100 publications in refereed journals (Discrete Applied Mathematics, Journal of

Production Economics, European Journal of Operational Research, International
Journal of Operational Research, 4OR: A Quarterly Journal of Operations
